FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Do you offer commissioned work?

At this time, no.  I would love to say yes to all of the requests I get and fulfill all of them flawlessly.  I know I would have/get more work this way.  I also know how my brain and its creative flow works and we don't do well under that kind of pressure.  Someday, I hope to be able to say yes to all of it, but right now, I've got to just be able to ride my creative train wherever we go.

2. How long have you been doing this?

I have a blog post that details all of this, but the short answer is that I started in January 2020.

3. When will my item ship?

I try to get items out as quickly as possible.  At this point, I don't post anything in the store that isn't ready to walk out the door.  I allow myself up to 7 days to get items shipped, because weekends and motherhood and oh my goodness the time I spend in the car.  The goal though is same day shipping.  If you are concerned about whether an item will "make it in time", feel free to reach out to me in order to clarify.

4. Do you have a brick and mortar storefront?

Not brick and mortar, but better.  I have an online storefront.  You don't even have to get dressed or leave your house!

You may at times find a selection of my work available at Typewriter + Moss in Old Town Auburn, Auburn Alehouse in Old Town Auburn, or Constellation Marketplace in Sacramento.

5. Are my purchases Dishwasher and/or Microwave safe?

Each item has been repeatedly cooked to well over 2000 degrees and as such, should do just fine in the microwave or the dishwasher.

Some items such as the carved tumbler cups with lots of exposed unglazed clay may developed a "seasoned" look after repeated use whether washed in the dishwasher or by hand.

Some glazes also tend to "scuff" a bit more with the use of metal such as silverware on them.  Typically any such markings can be scrubbed off.

6. What happens if my item arrives damaged or broken?

All items are shipped with $100 package protection.  If your item(s) arrive and have broken in transit, you may file a claim with the shipper in order to be reimbursed for the cost of the item.

I have only had a few items break in transit over the years, but it does happen from time to time and I have found that it's darn near impossible to get the claim processed from my end as I do not have the item and packaging in hand to provide the necessary documentation to the shipper.

I suggest that before you open any package, you document the state of the box on arrival and keep the box and pieces if there is any breakage as proof for the shippers.
